Destination Walk understands that many people with neurological injuries or diseases are offered little to no hope or opportunities for recovery after they leave the hospital and traditional rehabilitation therapies end. Our goal is to be part of the driving force that pushes that limited initial prognosis far beyond what traditional thought has dictated for so long. ABT is an individually designed exercise program aimed to improve function, independence and mobility through skill acquisition. For more information on ABT click here.
Once a month we share a meal together and some supportive conversation. Often there are outside speakers who help educate clients on their condition. Other times we discuss the challenges each of us face. It is a rich time that can provide the supports many of us need as we continue on our own journey. Caregivers are also welcome at these gatherings.
Destination Walk has partnered with Springdale Community Garden to provide therapy garden plots for any interested client. The plot is tilled and all seeds, tools, and water are provided. Come out and join us, get your hands dirty, and enjoy the satisfaction and fresh flavor of your own bounty!
